SENIOR MEDIA STRATEGIST
Position Summary
This position will be responsible for the strategic general oversight of media and marketing strategies, performance analysis and optimizations across clients. This person will balance strategic thinking with overseeing flawless execution that delivers both short-term and long-term visions. Mentor, train, and coach the account teams to provide best-in-class strategy and execution across account teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Insights
- Oversee the strategic business alignment of measurement/analysis plans on behalf of clients
- Participate in the exploration and understanding of new measurement and analysis methodologies
- Provide planning research support to client/account groups.
- Lead the development and execution of strategic frameworks
- Contribute to client campaigns by developing expert insights and collaborating on key recommendations
- Effectively utilize our portfolio of proprietary tools and partners to inform strategic insights
- Training
- Mentor, coach, train and support client media account group members; Develop media and account group’s skill sets
- Provide best practices, governance, and innovative guidance in all areas of digital including strategy, planning/buying, analytics, optimization and measurement across account groups.

- Seek, develop and manage external relationships, seeking “Best Practices,” as well as a value-added approach whereby external resources are viewed as “partners” vs. merely “vendors”
- Build and maintain partner relationships including agreements, Joint Business Plans and negotiated rate cards
- Review and enhance new/emerging strategies, platforms, tools and channels. Provide insight and perspective for adoption where appropriate
- Stay current on the industry and evolving media trends by collaborating with agency partners, attending conferences and monitoring news sources
- Stay informed about client industries including their business environment, technologies, products, target markets and competitors
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
- At least 7 years recent digital strategy and planning experience
- Relevant experience at agencies, advertisers, or industry partners
- Client relationship experience
- Advanced understanding of planning principles like reach, frequency, recency, optimal budget and media mix
- Experience with research, measurement and media systems (ex. Nielsen, ComScore, MRI/Simmons, Google Analytics, Dart, MOAT, Mediaocean)
- Experience with all paid digital channels including Display, Search, Social, Mobile, Video, Native and Programmatic
- Demonstrated understanding of industry terminology, media math (fees, CPM, ROAS etc.)
- Passion and strong interest for the media industry
- Experience developing client-facing presentations and performance reports
- Ability to manage multiple projects/campaigns across internal teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Organizational leadership and team development
- Organized and attention-to-detail approach
- BA/BS; MBA or Masters degree a plus
- Willing to travel
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably with a concentration in advertising, marketing, business administration, and communications
